Our Story

How it all started...

Bishop Karel N. Gray received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues at the age of 22. Two years later he was ordained a minister and began preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2005 he was ordained an Elder. Seven years later he was ordained a Bishop. He is the founding Pastor of New Life Pentecostal Ministries, Inc., located in Englishtown, New Jersey.

As a child, Bishop Gray knew that the Lord had called him into a ministry of healing and deliverance. He has ministered to many souls here in the United States and in other countries such as Jamaica and recently in India. Knowing that the Lord has called him, he said “Lord I will go wherever you send me, just as long as your presence goes with me”. Bishop Gray gives all the glory and honor to Almighty God for the signs and wonders following, as he ministers under the power of the Holy Ghost.

He is the husband of one wife, Elder Tamika, and the father of three wonderful children Destini, Michael and Matthew. He obtained his MBA from the University of Phoenix and his B.S. from Thomas Edison State College, which is located in Trenton, New Jersey. He is not only a preacher of the Word of God, but is committed to obeying the Word of God and has a great love for souls. Jesus said in St. Luke 4:18, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.

Bishop Karel Gray is a worshiper who cherishes the very presence of the Almighty God, who inhabits the praises of His people. Having an understanding of the importance of the presence of God, he has made up in his mind to seek after God’s presence, believing that anyone who comes in contact with His presence will never be the same again. Healing, miracles, signs, wonders, and deliverance takes place just by being in the glory of God. Intercessory prayer is a very important ministry within the church. The Lord has ministered to Bishop Gray over and over again, telling him that “this house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations”. Bishop Gray has said “The more I understand the importance of prayer, the more I have come to accept that prayer is the engine that moves the church. The more we pray, the more we will see the hand of God move among us like never before, and we will have more overcomers.”

As written in St. Luke 21:36, Jesus stated “watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man”. It is our greatest desire to see you grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who allows us to go from faith to faith and from glory to glory. To God be all the glory and all the honor.
Amen
